How To Use Your Mind-set To Gain Access To A Successful Life
Something was on my mind today, that I just had to express. I had the choice between doing business and doing a blog and I guess you know what I chose. Being a writer, you tend to attract writing articles, blogposts and all things writing. So upon my attraction sprung this notion of the ‘writer’s block’.
Who made up this crazy idea of there being a writer’s block? Was it you?
I see it everywhere. But thinking about the topic from an author’s perspective (I can say that now- leave me to have my shine) there is no such thing.
When you write a text message to a friend, an email to a work colleague or even a love letter to your long-lost partner, there is no block. In fact, there’s usually an overflow of things that you want to say, but stop yourself so that you don’t look like the chatterbox in the scenario.
So why is it that when you give yourself the title of being an author, a blog writer, a play/script writer, song writer, whatever it may be, we develop this writers block notion? Get rid of it!
It’s an excuse! I know, pretty blunt of me, but it’s what I believe to be true. When I wasn’t an author, there was no such thing as a writer’s block, the term was just sprung on me when I adopted the label and I think its because we concentrate so much on the ‘professionalism’ of the title we have, that we forget how to be our natural selves when it comes down to doing the task.
If you love to write, just write! Write down exactly what comes to your head and express yourself at first hand, exactly as you meant it to be.
So, a word to any writers, please don’t get too caught up in your title, because getting caught up in your title, means you may get caught up in the words and phrases associated with your title. Be you, express yourself, don’t over complicate the process. Just write in your free-est form.
Il be back with my ‘anything to do with writing’ posts.
